Corset Glossary

Bones/Boning	Thin ridgid steel strips that provide strength and shape.
Busk	A rigid closure in the front made of two long pieces of steel, one with meta loops and the other with posts that lock together.
Corset Dress	Tight dress laced up the back like a corset.
Grommet	Metal rings that are inserted into the fabric ro reinforce the lacing holes
Lacing	Twisted or woven cord used to secure the corset from the back
Rivet	A metal fastener having a large head on one end. Can be used for decoration.
Sweetheart Neckline	A curved top over the bust which resembles the top of a heart.
Waist Cincher	A tight laced short under bust designed for maximun waist reduction.
Zipper Channels	A zipper seperated in half and sewn into the boning channel.
Zippered Corset	A corset utilizing a heavy zipper as the main method of closure.
